For more than three decades, the Beaver Valley and surrounding areas have been at the forefront of Sea & Ski Realty’s story. Our region has seen its economy transform from over a century of farming and industry to today’s thriving recreation and retirement driven landscape. With this change came new opportunities, and Sea & Ski Realty recognized early on that retirement and seasonal homeownership would become the anchor of this evolving economy. From Ski Chalets to Waterfront Cottages to Country Estates, we have always believed in the unique lifestyle this region offers.
Founded in the 1980s, Sea & Ski set out with a vision: to help people find not just houses, but places where memories could be made and lifestyles could flourish. By 1994, we had established ourselves as a trusted boutique brokerage, dedicated to serving clients across Grey and Simcoe Counties with professionalism, innovation, and heart.
In 2000, our offices moved from Meaford to Kimberley, positioning us at the centre of the burgeoning Beaver Valley real estate market. This strategic step allowed us to better serve those seeking retirement properties, recreational retreats, and family homes in Ontario’s four-season playground. Over time, our reputation grew, and Sea & Ski became one of the top-producing real estate companies in the region.
At the helm of this growth has been our Broker of Record, Karen Cox. Active in real estate for over 32 years, Karen’s leadership and expertise have shaped Sea & Ski’s values of service, integrity, and client care. Her commitment to the profession extends beyond our community. Karen has served at every level of organized real estate, twice President of the REALTORS® Association of Grey Bruce Owen Sound (2010, 2015). She went on to serve as Provincial Director for Western Ontario REALTORS® on the Ontario Real Estate Association’s (OREA) Board of Directors. In 2019, Karen became the President of the Ontario Real Estate Association, representing 80,000 brokers and salespeople across Ontario.
While Karen’s individual achievements are remarkable, what truly sets Sea & Ski apart is our team model. Over the past few decades, the Beaver Valley and surrounding areas have witnessed a change in the driving forces behind its economy. For well over the past 100 years, farming and industry has driven the economy and provided employment to thousands of families across the entire region.
Today, we experience a Tourism and Recreation driven economy that is quickly turning our region into the number one four-season playground in Ontario. While tourism is a steady source of cash flow to the region it requires a more temporary style lodging. The recreation component truly provides the anchor behind the new economy and requires a more permanent style accommodation property.
Sea & Ski recognized this transition back in the 1980’s and has since created a successful Real Estate company by providing a wide range of services catering to both the tourist and the recreational consumer.
In 1999, Sea & Ski had the vision to relocate its offices from Meaford to Kimberley in order to capture the burgeoning Real Estate market in the Beaver Valley. Today, Sea & Ski is one of the top producing real estate companies in the Beaver Valley and is in the process of expanding its sales force to meet the increasing demands of consumers searching for their retirement or recreation get-a-way.
