Overview

It can be very difficult to find a place where you can be fully immersed in the farming experience. Many people who come to our area from the city love to see the local agriculture and want to find a way to experience it firsthand. One of the best places to do this is the Farmer’s Pantry, located just outside of Clarksburg on Grey Road 13.

The Farmer’s Pantry started in 1999 by Mike and Mary-Lynn Sheridan as a small tent selling locally grown products on Highway 26. Mary-Lynn tells us that after starting that it was her daughter that came up with the idea to have we pick and you pick apples. Since that great idea, the tent expanded to their farm on Grey Road 13, and features activities for young and old to enjoy. Their motto “Come Grow with Us” is evident in almost all that they do and you’ll understand if you ever visit the farm.

What To Expect At The Farm

The first thing you’ll notice about the Farmer’s Pantry is the big, grey building. This is where their market is held. Inside, you’ll be able to find in season produce, local meats, fish and cheeses as well as preserves, snacks and goodies. The farmer’s pantry also features many local artists showcasing their art, gift-ware and décor. You’ll find yourself getting lost in all that the farmer’s pantry has to offer but you’ll also find that your kids may not enjoy shopping as much as you do. But don’t worry, The Farmer’s Pantry has come up with a way to entertain your kids- The Farmer’s Fun Field.

Fun For All Ages

Your kids can spend hours running through the Farmer’s Fun Field participating in all of the great activities. From Mini golf to the Cedar Hedge Maze and Rope Maze there is something for every kid to love and enjoy. Plus, they have a petting zoo and a wildlife interactive centre where children can meet and learn about the animals that live on the farm.

Another great way to enjoy family time at the Farmer’s Pantry is to take part in the U- Pick. Depending on the season, The Farmer’s Pantry offers pick your own raspberries, salads and apples. It’s a great activity for all ages and you can enjoy these fresh locally grown fruits and veggies with your family afterwards.

There is always so much to do and so much fun to be had at the Farmer’s Pantry. Not only do they offer all of these great activities but they also host annual events and they have partnered with the local school board to host local field trips and to ensure that children get an enriched educational experience.
