It’s crazy how quickly summer has flown by.  Before you know it, kids will be back in school and shortly after, the leaves will start to change colours and fall. A great way to get your family out for a day to learn about our area’s culture and heritage is to check out the local fall fairs. There are many coming up in the next couple of weeks, so here are some that we think you should check out. Durham Fall Fair

Fall Fair Season

  • Held from August 31th – September 2nd  at the Durham Community Centre in Durham
  • Admission- Friday and Sunday: Adults (14+)  $5
  • Saturday: Adults $7, Students (with student card) $5
  • *Children 13and under are free *
  • Weekend Passes Available

Markdale Fall Fair

  • Held from August 24th-26th at the Kind Edward Park and Centre Grey Recreation Complex in Markdale
  • Admission- Adults $7, Students (13-18) $3, Children (under 12) $2
  • Daily and Weekend Passes are available
  • Highlights
    • Sunday Breakfast by the 1st Flesherton Scouts
    • Classic Car Show

Owen Sound Fall Fair

  • Held from September 6th – 8th at Victoria Park in  Owen Sound
  • Admission- Thursday: Adults $8, Children (aged 5- 13) $2
  • Friday and Saturday: Adults $10, Children (aged 5- 13)  $5
  • *Children 4 and under are free with Adult Admission*
  •      Weekend Passes Available

  • Held from September 7th – 8th at the Beaver Valley Community Centre in Thornbury
  • Admission- One day pass: Adults $6, Students $5
  • Two day pass: Adults $10, Students $7

  • Held from September 7th – 9th at the Dundalk Arena and Fair Grounds in Dundalk
  • Admission- Friday: Adults $5, Students $2

  • Highlights
    • Paintball

Great Northern Exhibition

  • Held from September 20th – 22nd at the GNE Fair Grounds in Collingwood

Also, make sure to check out the as well as the Meaford & St. Vincent Fall Fair from August  31st — September 1st and the Rocklyn Fall Fair held on September 22nd. These fall fairs help unite the community and are a joy to attend. So as the school year and fall season approaches, remember that the fall fair season is coming too!
