With autumn upon us and the need to purposefully choose social distancing activities we thought we would share some of our favourite places to view the fall colours in Grey County. Tour around with Karen Cox, Broker of Record at Sea & Ski Realty to experience the breathtaking colours.

We encourage you to check out some of these spots and to reach out and share some of your own favourite spots with us on social media by using the #SellingTheLifestyle.

Stopping at the county favourite Grandma Lambe’s to fuel up for our day of exploring, we grab some snacks to enjoy later at one of our many breathtaking stops. A quick drive will take you to the top of Irish Mountain and enjoy the panoramic view of the lake and harbor. Crossing over to the other side of Bighead River, you can experience equally as stunning views from the top of Scotch Mountain.

Travelling throughout Grey County is truly one of the best experiences the area has to offer. Be it by car or bike, the quiet winding roads offer peace and tranquility as well as offering some of the best views.  Often times we stop at the designated lookout points like Epping Lookout and Beaver Valley Rest Stop and, although the view is spectacular, some of the best moments are when you create your own journey and find your own space on this great land.  While adhering to legal, and health and safety boundaries, try to find your own path to the next best view in Grey County.

On Karen’s journey to some local favourites like Lake Eugenia, and Old Baldy, she often pulls over onto the side of the road to capture these in-between landscapes. There is something to be said about revisiting the places we know too well; the places we tend to forget are still as stunning as they were the first time we saw them.  Especially now, as the leaves change, we are taken on a journey that we have never been on before. In a time full of so much uncertainty, take comfort in revisiting the places you know as home.

Moving along in her travels, Karen takes us to the Top of Blue Mountain and shares with us yet another outstanding view of Georgian Bay.  Blue Mountain is known for its beautiful resort and village, open air gondola, skiing in the winter and most recently, the AGORA Path of Lights installation.  Arrive early and enjoy the sunset from the gondola. At the top, walk the 3km trail along the magical path of lights.  Need a fresh view of the fall colours at Blue Mountain?  Check out the Blue-Clearview Townline side for a sheer mountainous vibe that will transport you out of the province and satisfy that travel bug we have all got right now.

For a bonus stop, swing by The Flesherton Farmer’s Markets, open on Saturday’s only from 8 am – 1 pm from now until Thanksgiving weekend.

We hope that you’ve enjoyed our Fall Colour Tour with Karen Cox. Don’t forget to share photos of your favourite spots by using the #SellingTheLifestyle.
