Discover the Farm Life of Chatsworth

If you’re looking for a fun way to welcome the arrival of fall in Grey County, mark September 13th on your calendar. The South Grey Chamber of Commerce is bringing back Open Barns, Open Doors, a family-friendly farm tour that offers a behind-the-scenes look at some of the farms and agricultural businesses that make the Township of Chatsworth so special.

Taking place from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., the event is an opportunity to explore local farms, meet the people behind them, and experience a side of rural Grey County that you may not normally get to see.

A Day of Farm-Filled Fun

There’s something for everyone at Open Barns, Open Doors.

At Chatsworth Honey, visitors can learn more about beekeeping and honey production, enjoy guided tours and honey tastings, and browse locally made products including honey, beeswax products, candles and maple syrup.

Over at Round Hill Farms, you can meet the cows, chickens and ducks, check out the tractor show, browse the vendor market, enjoy some face painting and grab a bite at the cash BBQ. There will also be an opportunity to wander through the gardens and enjoy the farm setting.

And for animal lovers, Happy Acres offers plenty of hands-on experiences. Visitors can take part in guided alpaca walks, cuddle and groom donkeys, brush miniature horses, and interact with goats, sheep, potbelly pigs, chickens and more.

One of the things we love about living and working in Grey County is the opportunity to experience the communities and landscapes that make this area unique. Events like Open Barns, Open Doors are a great reminder that there’s much more to discover beyond the usual weekend destinations.

Whether you’re bringing the kids, looking for a fun fall outing, or simply curious about where our food comes from and how local farms operate, this is a chance to get outside, meet local farmers and enjoy a genuine taste of rural life.

Open Barns, Open Doors takes place Sunday, September 13th from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Township of Chatsworth.
