Georgian & Nottawasaga Bay
In Grey County we are blessed with many beautiful beaches while being on Georgian Bay. It can be difficult to decide on which beach to visit during your stay. We are here to help you find the best beach in your location!
1)Little River Beach Park Thornbury
Little River Beach Park is arguably one of the prettiest beach views in Grey County. It is ideal for anyone hoping to get beautiful crystal clear water photos, view rows of amazing boats and admire the towering escarpment in the backdrop. The beach itself is mixed with sand and pebbles with a few treed areas for shade. Arrive in good timing because this beach gets pretty busy in the summertime with downtown Thornbury only a couple blocks away! Head down the Thornbury pier if you’re feeling brave enough to take a leap in!
2) Northwinds Beach Blue Mountains
Northwinds Beach is a pretty little beach that holds a beautiful view of rocky edges and of the shoreline parallel on Georgian Bay of Christian Island. It is easily accessible with a quick turn off Highway 26. This is a great beach to catch a quick sunset or sunrise or come relax in time off. Many people come to paddle board and kayak from this beach.
3) Fred Raper Park Meaford
Living in rural Ontario, when autumn comes a staple in the area is Fall Fairs. There are several in the area to check out throughout the fall season with tons of fun activities including 4-H shows, ambassador competitions, tractor and horse pulls, horse shows, and lots more. Fall Fairs are fun for the whole family and a great way to celebrate our small towns!
4) Lake Eugenia Eugenia
Lake Eugenia is tucked away in the Beaver Valley in the small town of Eugenia. This charming town holds many charming local businesses and outdoor enthusiasts. You will find many cottages on Lake Eugenia. There is also a public grassy beach available to relax on! this is a perfect shaded spot for a picnic or to enjoy the cottage life. Motorized watercraft are also allowed on the beach so our best advice is to invite a friend with a boat or jet ski!
5) Christie Beach Between Meaford and Thornbury
Christie Beach is home to a beautiful sandy beach that is a “local secret”. You will find Christie beach off of Hwy 26, east of Meaford. Amenities such as washrooms and picnic shelter are on the location. Lay back on this beach, tucked away from the crowds and enjoy the view!
6) Memorial Beach Meaford
