Grey County Market Stats

Looking back, home sales in Grey County totaled 243 units in July, which is a 20% increase from June 2020, and a 48% increase from the same period in 2019.

When looking at the average home sale price, it is up about 36% compared to July of last year, and has increased 10% since last month.

There were 249 new listings in Grey County in July, which is a slight decrease of 2% from last month, but is up about 12% on a year-over-year basis.

The number of days on market has gone back down from its previous incline. Sitting at 57 days last month to 51 days this month, which is an 11% decrease in days on market.

Our Local Communities Market Stats

Grey Highlands

In the Municipality of Grey Highlands there has been a 12% increase in the number of properties listed since last month but a 17% decrease when compared to July of 2019. Property sales have decreased 13% from last month and have stayed the same from the same time last year, with the bulk of the sales being in the 5-6 hundred thousand range.


West Grey

The number of new listings in the Municipality of West Grey is up with a 4% increase from last month, and has increased 26% from July 2019.  The number of properties that sold increased from 23 in June to 27 in July, while an 80% increase was noted compared to the same period last year.  The bulk of the sales were below the 2 hundred thousand range.


While the Municipality of Chatsworth saw no change in the number of new listings from last month, we do see a decrease of 42% compared to July of last year. The number of properties sold with an increase of 66% compared to last month and saw a slight 6% decrease when compared to July 2019, with the highest number of sales in the 3-4 hundred thousand dollar range. 



In the Municipality of Meaford, there was a 12% decrease in the number of new listings compared to last month but a 38% increase from July 2019. We saw a huge 92% spike in the number of sales compared to last month, and another big 77% increase on a year-over-year basis. The majority of sales were in the 4-5 and 3-4 hundred thousand dollar range.

The Blue Mountains

When looking at the Municipality of the Town of the Blue Mountains, there has been a decrease of 15% in the number of new listings compared to June and a 17% increase from July of 2019. The number of sales is up again this month with a 109% increase from June and saw a 168% increase compared to the same month last year, with the highest number of sales being in the 1 million plus range as well as the 6-7 and 7-8 hundred thousand range.
