Meet Victoria McMurchy, Community Reporter
Victoria McMurchy was born and raised in the Town of the Blue Mountains. She is the fifth generation to live on her family’s farm, which is located five kilometres south of Thornbury. She values the positive impact that growing up in such a tight knit community had on her life and believes that the expression “it takes a village to raise a child” completely applies to this area.
Victoria is currently attending Ryerson University for Journalism and is adjusting well to the big city lifestyle. After moving to Toronto, Victoria now understands how special the Beaver Valley is and will always be proud to call it home.
When Victoria is home, she loves getting involved with the community. She has helped organize the Beaver Crawl, a non-traditional triathlon that takes place locally on Canada Day and has represented the area as the Beaver Valley Fall Fair Ambassador.
When not working, Victoria loves experiencing all that this area has to offer. She’s always checking out the hidden gems of the area or eating at local restaurants with friends and family. As well, Victoria prefers to shop locally to support local businesses and producers.
As the Community Reporter for Sea and Ski, Victoria can focus on her passion for her community through her writing and can showcase some of her favourite businesses and events.
